Federal Secretary for Human Rights Fosters Partnership with NGOs in Karachi

Karachi: In a strategic move to bolster human rights initiatives across Pakistan, Allah Dino Khowaja, the Federal Secretary for Human Rights, convened a meeting with numerous non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and civil society organizations (CSOs) at the Ministry of Human Rights’ Regional Office in Karachi. The meeting focused on enhancing gender equality and expanding outreach to marginalized communities through collaborative efforts.

According to Ministry of Human Rights announcement issued on 16 September 2024, the session highlighted the indispensable role of NGOs and CSOs in advancing human rights and gender sensitization, particularly in underprivileged areas. The importance of their technical expertise and community connections was emphasized as vital for the implementation of effective human rights programs. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between the Legal Aid Society (LAS) and the Ministry, marking a significant advancement in the partnership aimed at strengthening human rights initiatives.
