Finance Minister Aurangzeb Stresses Fiscal Discipline for Economic Growth

Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb emphasized the importance of maintaining fiscal discipline as a cornerstone for bolstering economic growth, during his response to calling attention notices in the Senate.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, while addressing concerns raised by Senator Mohsin Aziz and Senator Zeeshan Khanzada, Minister Aurangzeb outlined that adherence to fiscal discipline would lead to an increase in revenue and exports, alongside a reduction in borrowing. He pointed out the positive trends in the economy, noting the stabilization of the currency and the inflation rate dropping to a single digit.

The Finance Minister also highlighted the necessity for structural reforms to sustain and enhance economic performance, signaling ongoing efforts to fortify the country’s financial health and stability.
