Finance Minister Outlines Transition from Economic Stabilization to Growth at IMF Forum

Washington DC: At the “Governor Talks – Pakistan: From Stabilization to Sustainable Growth via Structural Reforms” forum, Finance Minister Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb outlined the government’s policy actions aimed at regaining economic stability, increasing tax revenues, and reforming taxation to be fairer and more efficient in Pakistan. The forum, moderated by Mr. Jihad Azour, Director of the IMF, focused on addressing structural distortions to shift the country from a phase of stabilization to sustainable growth.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Aurangzeb detailed the initiatives undertaken by the government to correct entrenched structural issues, which are key to transitioning towards broader economic growth. The discussions highlighted the commitment to making the taxation system more effective and expanding the tax base, which are seen as vital steps for future economic resilience and prosperity.
