Foreign Buyers Show Strong Interest in Pakistani Carpets

Lahore: Representatives from 40 countries have shown a strong interest in the quality and design of Pakistani carpets at the 41st International Carpet Exhibition, according to organizers. The event, hosted by the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA), has drawn significant attention from foreign companies.

The exhibition, taking place at a local hotel, is in its second day and features a wide array of handmade carpets. Foreign buyers have visited the stalls, praising the high quality and modern designs. Notably, they have engaged in substantial purchases, highlighting their interest in Pakistani craftsmanship.

Present at the event were key figures including PCMEA Patron-in-Chief Abdul Latif Malik, Chairman Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman, and Exhibition Chairman Riaz Ahmed. Other attendees included CTI Chairperson Ijaz-ur-Rehman and industry figures Saeed Khan, Usman Ashraf, and Major (R) Akhtar Nazir.

In addition to browsing the exhibition, foreign buyers have held individual meetings with manufacturers and exporters. These discussions focused on enhancing business relations and exploring global trends in carpet design. The interactions underscore the international appeal of Pakistani handmade carpets.

The three-day exhibition is set to conclude today, marking another successful year for the event that brings global attention to the skills of Pakistani artisans.
