Former Azad Kashmir PM Sardar Attique Calls for International Action on Kashmir

Islamabad: Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, has called upon the international community to recognize and enforce the rights of Kashmiri people as specified in United Nations resolutions. His appeal came in a video message released on Kashmir Black Day, observed annually to protest India’s long-standing occupation of the region.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Sardar Attique stressed the urgency of global intervention to support Kashmiris’ fight for self-determination. He detailed ongoing human rights violations by Indian forces, including extrajudicial killings, torture, and arbitrary arrests. These abuses, he noted, underscore the critical need for international attention and action to resolve the Kashmir dispute and end India’s occupation.

In his address, Sardar Attique reaffirmed his commitment to the Kashmiri struggle for autonomy and justice. He emphasized that Pakistan views the situation not just as a territorial dispute but as a matter of defending the rights and safety of its Muslim-majority population in Kashmir. “We want justice, not sympathy. We want our rights, not mere promises,” he declared, calling for substantive support rather than passive acknowledgment from the global community.
