Four Pakistanis Die After Boat Sinks Off Libya: FO

Tripoli: Pakistan’s mission in Tripoli, Libya has confirmed that four Pakistani nationals have died after a vessel sank near the Harawa coast, eastern Libya.

According to Radio Pakistan, the mission’s team visited Sirte City and confirmed the recovery of 11 bodies of migrants, out of which four were identified as Pakistanis based on their documents. Two bodies remain unidentified.

The identified Pakistani nationals include Zahid Mehmood s/o Liaqat Ali from Gujranwala, Sameer Ali s/o Raja Abdul Qadeer, Syed Ali Hussain s/o Shafqat ul Hussnain, and Asif Ali s/o Nazar Muhammad from Mandi Bahauddin.

The Embassy in Tripoli is actively working to gather more information about the affected Pakistani nationals and is in contact with the local authorities. The Crisis Management Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been activated to monitor the situation.
