FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Partners with Reon Energy for 3.4 MW Solar Project

Karachi: FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited has announced a partnership with Reon Energy to implement a 3.4 MW solar power project at its manufacturing facility in Sahiwal. The initiative aims to generate 5,013.6 MWh of clean energy annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 2,506 tonnes each year.

According to FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited, this collaboration underscores its commitment to environmental sustainability and marks a significant step forward in the dairy industry. Kashan Hasan, CEO & Managing Director of FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan, highlighted the importance of such partnerships in advancing sustainability within the sector. He noted that leveraging solar energy is crucial for minimizing environmental impact and promoting a cost-effective approach to sustainability.

Mujtaba Haider Khan, CEO of Reon Energy, expressed that the partnership reflects Reon’s dedication to facilitating the transition to renewable energy across industries. The collaboration employs Reon’s proprietary Battery Storage platform, REFLEXTM, and Energy Management software, SPARKTM, to enhance energy affordability, reliability, and sustainability.

This solar initiative aligns with FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan’s broader efforts to support sustainable dairy production. The company is actively assisting 93 farms in transitioning to solar energy, further promoting renewable energy adoption within the dairy sector.
