Gandapur Faces Criticism from Punjab Minister Over Remarks

Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has criticized Ali Amin Gandapur, labeling him a disgrace to the Pashtun community and calling his recent remarks baseless and offensive. Bokhari’s comments highlight ongoing tensions and the use of harsh language in political discourse.

According to a statement by Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Bokhari compared Gandapur to his leader, accusing both of lacking manners. She expressed disdain for his rhetoric and questioned his conduct as a provincial chief executive, urging him to adopt a more civilized manner of speaking.

Bokhari also made personal remarks, suggesting that the women in Gandapur’s family might attend events without makeup or jewelry. She expressed sympathy for them, stating they endure his behavior, which she described as unbridled and shameful.

Furthermore, Bokhari criticized what she perceives as double standards, highlighting the respect typically associated with Pashtun women and contrasting it with Gandapur’s actions. She warned against using derogatory language towards Maryam Nawaz, asserting that strong action would be taken against those who do so.

The statement reflects the heightened political tensions and the personal nature of political exchanges in the region.
