Islamabad: A high-level delegation of university presidents and academic leaders from major universities in Gaza has successfully concluded its historic visit to Pakistan. Facilitated by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), this first-of-its-kind visit took place from October 16 to 23, 2025.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Palestinian delegation included representatives from the University of Palestine, Al-Aqsa University, the Islamic University of Gaza, Al-Azhar University, Al-Isra University, and the University of Gaza. The visit marked a significant step in fostering academic and scientific ties between Gaza and Pakistan.
During their visit, the delegation participated in the Palestinian-Pakistani University Presidents Forum. A historic memorandum of understanding was signed at the COMSTECH General Secretariat headquarters in Islamabad. The agreement aims to enhance academic and scientific cooperation between the universities of both regions, paving the way for collaborative projects and mutual exchanges in the future.
