GBSA Criticizes University of Kashmir over Alleged Policy Violations

Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Gujjar-Bakharwal Students Alliance (GBSA) has expressed strong disapproval of the alleged violations of the territory’s Reservation Rules 2005 during the ongoing recruitment process at the University of Kashmir.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Amir Chaudhry, the chief spokesperson of GBSA, claimed that the recruitment process is skewed in favor of candidates who are not residents of IIOJK. This, he argued, constitutes a violation of the reservation policy designed to protect the interests of local Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates.

Saqib Zubair, GBSA’s General Secretary, highlighted the necessity for adherence to the law and called for immediate corrective measures to uphold the reservation laws. He criticized any manipulation of recruitment procedures, noting that such actions deprive deserving local candidates of opportunities and undermine the institution’s credibility and the rights of their community.

The alliance warned that they would escalate their protests if these issues are not addressed swiftly.
