Gilani Advocates for Strengthened Pakistan-Australia Relations

Islamabad:Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has emphasized the importance of enhancing relations between Pakistan and Australia through increased parliamentary exchanges, trade and investment, education, defense cooperation, and people-to-people contacts.

According to Radio Pakistan, Gilani shared these views during a meeting with Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Timothy Kane. He highlighted the longstanding and cordial relations between the two countries, pointing out their shared democratic values and strong people-to-people linkages.

Gilani also praised Australia’s contribution to Pakistan’s development, particularly in education and human resource development. He acknowledged the valuable role that the Pakistani diaspora plays in Australia’s social and economic progress.

The Australian High Commissioner expressed a similar interest in further strengthening bilateral and parliamentary cooperation with Pakistan.
