Gilani Presides Over Important Session of 68th CPC in Barbados

Barbados: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani presided over an important session of the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Barbados on Friday.

According to Radio Pakistan, Gilani highlighted three significant takeaways from the session. He emphasized that strength abroad demands strong governance at home. He reiterated that the Commonwealth’s shared values, enshrined in the Commonwealth Charter and Latimer House Principles, are crucial assets in navigating global challenges. Gilani also noted that parliamentarians serve as the voices of the vulnerable and the guardians of accountability.

In response to a question, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani dismissed the notion that he was avoiding shaking hands with the Indian parliamentary delegation. He clarified that he did shake hands with the Indian delegation and expressed his readiness to do so again. His remarks were met with applause from the audience, appreciating the Chairman Senate’s stance.
