Gilani Stresses Policy Stability to Strengthen Capital Market

Islamabad: Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani today inaugurated the Founders’ Wall at the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) Towers Limited, paying tribute to the pioneers who laid the foundations of the institution.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the event, Gilani underscored three key priorities aimed at fortifying the capital market. He emphasized the need to promote financial participation through financial literacy programs, encourage family-owned businesses and mid-sized enterprises to list on the exchange, and maintain policy stability supported by sound macroeconomic fundamentals and long-term structural reforms.

The Acting President highlighted Parliament’s role as a committed partner in the nation’s economic journey, noting its ongoing efforts to refine capital market legislation, enhance regulatory frameworks under the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), and safeguard investor interests.
