Goods Train Derailment Causes Widespread Train Cancellations and Diversions in India.

Hyderabad: A goods train derailment in India has led to the cancellation of 39 passenger trains and the diversion of 61 others across the country.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the South Central Railway (SCR) Public Relations Officer A. Sridhar reported that the derailment occurred late Tuesday night, involving twelve wagons carrying steel coils and iron rods between Raghavapuram and Ramagundam, Peddapalli district of Telangana.

Sridhar stated that all three tracks on the triple-line section were blocked due to the incident. Restoration work began promptly, with a temporary approach road being constructed to enable large cranes to reach the site.

The goods train, originating from Ballari in Karnataka and heading toward Ghaziabad, experienced no casualties. However, the derailment significantly disrupted train schedules within the SCR zone, resulting in the cancellation of 39 passenger trains, partial cancellation of seven, and the diversion of 61. Additionally, seven trains were rescheduled.

Long-distance trains were rerouted to alternate paths to avoid cancellations, while trains operating within the SCR zone were cancelled.
