Karachi: Google has announced the expansion of its Ads in AI Overviews feature to several Asia-Pacific markets, including Pakistan, later this year. This development aims to provide businesses with innovative opportunities to reach customers through AI-generated summaries on Google Search.
AI Overviews, a tool used by over 1.5 billion people globally, has significantly impacted search queries, driving over 10% growth in major markets. The integration of ads into these overviews is expected to offer businesses in Pakistan an enhanced ability to engage with potential customers, supporting their journey from initial discovery to final decision-making.
The new feature allows businesses to shorten the path from discovery to decision by placing ads directly into AI-generated responses. This integration is designed to position businesses as the immediate next step for consumers, aligning ads with both user queries and the context of the AI Overview.
Google’s initiative is part of a broader strategy to incorporate AI-powered tools across its platforms, including Search and YouTube. These tools are intended to help brands and marketers navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape by providing smarter, more personalized advertising options.
Sapna Chadha, Vice President of Google Southeast Asia and South Asia Frontier, highlighted the company’s commitment to AI-driven advertising. “As consumer journeys become more complex, we’re equipping marketers with our most advanced models yet, offering faster, creative, wider reach, sharper insights, and better results,” Chadha said.
The rollout of Ads in AI Overviews is accompanied by several new AI-powered tools. AI Max for Search, for instance, helps businesses appear in more relevant search moments by automatically generating tailored headlines. AI Mode, another advanced AI search tool, is designed to enhance user interactions with deeper reasoning and multimodal capabilities.
Additionally, Google has introduced the YouTube Creator Partnerships Hub, a tool in Google Ads that facilitates collaboration between brands and YouTube creators. This platform aims to turn creator collaborations into tangible business results by enabling marketers to discover and engage with creators more effectively.
Google’s incorporation of agentic capabilities into its advertising tools further enhances the user experience. These capabilities, described as a supercharged assistant, allow for the automatic generation and optimization of campaigns, providing marketers with real-time keyword suggestions and creative adjustments.
