Islamabad: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has announced that the government is pursuing ambitious plans to elevate Pakistan’s exports to 100 billion dollars by transitioning to a technology-driven economy over the next eight years. Addressing a conference at the National University of Sciences and Technology, he emphasized the significance of embracing the digital revolution and fostering knowledge-driven innovation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Minister highlighted the global surge in knowledge and technological advancements, urging for entrepreneurial and innovative ventures to secure Pakistan’s position on the global stage. He stressed the necessity of integrating women into these efforts, noting their growing achievements in startups and their significant contributions to science and technology worldwide.

In the context of climate change, the Minister outlined the government’s strategic focus on water and food security, emphasizing the integration of technology to transform agriculture. This initiative is part of the government’s broader development goals under the 5Es Framework, which prioritizes sustainable practices and investment in environmental initiatives.

Concluding his address, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal reaffirmed his belief in the leadership capabilities of Pakistan’s women and youth, expressing confidence in their potential to drive the nation’s future progress.
