Government Announces Mineral Conference to Unleash $8 Trillion Resource Potential

Islamabad: The Government has announced plans to organize a mineral conference in Islamabad next month, aiming to explore mineral resources worth eight trillion dollars. This initiative is part of the efforts under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

According to Radio Pakistan, the Reko Dek project, which involves an investment of five point five billion dollars, is projected to be completed by the end of 2028. Once operational, it is expected to generate an annual income of two point eight billion dollars.

In addition to the conference, the government is contemplating offering the United Arab Emirates five significant projects within the minerals sector. This move aims to strengthen international partnerships and boost investment in the industry.

Furthermore, with SIFC’s cooperation, a project is being discussed to connect Gwadar and Chagi through a rail network, which is expected to enhance logistical support for the minerals sector and contribute to regional development.
