Government Approves Army Deployment in Islamabad for SCO Meeting

Islamabad: The Federal Government has sanctioned the deployment of Pakistan Army troops in the capital to ensure law and order during the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the troops will support the district administration from the 5th to the 17th of this month, coinciding with the 23rd meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of Government. The deployment aims to facilitate the smooth conduct of the event and the security of visiting VVIP delegations.
