Government Charts Economic Course, Says Planning Minister

NAROWAL: The Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, announced that the current government has set the nation on a path of economic growth. Speaking at a ceremony in Narowal, he emphasized the government’s focus on economic revival, which he says has been achieved without regard for political repercussions.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Iqbal highlighted the global acknowledgment of Pakistan’s economic progress. The planning minister noted that the government’s initiatives have captured international attention, signaling a positive shift in the country’s economic narrative.

Iqbal credited former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for eliminating power load shedding by generating 11,000 megawatts of electricity within four years, which he believes laid the groundwork for development. He also mentioned ongoing work on the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in collaboration with China.

The minister introduced the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative, aimed at further elevating the national economy. Iqbal criticized the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for allegedly misrepresenting the Saylani ‘Langar Khanas’ initiative as his own and accused PTI of damaging Pakistan’s international image through protests abroad.

Further, Iqbal accused the PTI founder of misusing religious teachings to obscure allegations of corruption.
