Government Implements Measures to Safeguard Minority Rights: Khawaja Asif

Sialkot: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has affirmed that the constitution of Pakistan ensures the protection of minority rights and the government is actively implementing measures to uphold these rights. He made these remarks during a ceremony held in Sialkot today.

According to Radio Pakistan, Asif emphasized that every citizen in Pakistan enjoys equal status and rights, regardless of religion or creed. He further highlighted that the treatment of minority communities is a reflection of a nation’s tolerance and values.

The Defence Minister commended Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her proactive steps in protecting minorities as equal citizens and providing them relief through the Minority Card scheme. He stressed the importance of interfaith harmony and integration for the nation’s defense, solidarity, and the establishment of a healthy society.

Earlier in the event, Punjab Minority Affairs Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora outlined the initiatives undertaken by the Punjab Government to safeguard and support minority communities.
