Government mulls over bridge over Korangi causeway

Karachi, September 04, 2019 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that damage to the Korangi Causeway in recent urban flooding in the megacity has created serious problems for people living in Korangi. Addressing a meeting here Wednesday, he said due to damage of this road people are using alternate route of Korangi industrial area where traffic jam is a routine matter.

He said that his government wanted to construct a bridge on the causeway so that flow of traffic could be made hassle free. He decided to prepare a detailed plan after adopting engineering solutions. The meeting was told that for the Yellow Line project it is also suggested construction of a flyover from Baloch Colony Bridge to Korangi. This would also cover the Korangi causeway. Murad directed P and D department to consult with Yellow Line project team in this regard.
