Government Prioritizes Extensive Road Infrastructure Projects

Islamabad: The Senate Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Special Initiatives was informed that the government is currently undertaking extensive road infrastructure projects spanning over three hundred kilometers.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chairman of the National Highway Authority informed the committee that the Sukkur-Hyderabad (M-6) contract is a top priority project. This project has been divided into five sections as per the feasibility report from international consultants.

He further informed the committee that two sections of the M-6 project will be initiated on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The government is also looking to secure investments for the remaining three sections, as these sections require substantial funds for execution and completion.
