This announcement was made during a meeting held in Islamabad, where the minister highlighted the feasibility of this goal by referencing Egypt’s successful eradication of hepatitis in a similar timeframe.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ahsan Iqbal outlined that the government is not only focusing on treatment but is also prioritizing preventive healthcare measures. This strategy includes a significant emphasis on raising public awareness to help reduce the incidence of diseases. The minister also announced that a new initiative by the Prime Minister to combat diabetes is set to be launched, reinforcing the government’s commitment to improving public health through comprehensive healthcare strategies.
