Govt approves modernization project of ship breaking industry: Qaiser

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has said that Federal Government has approved modernization project of ship breaking industry at a cost of 12 billion rupees.

During his visit in Gaddani in Hub district, the Minister said a waste management plant, a 30-bedded hospital, blacktop roads and a fire brigade station are included in the project.

Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said the process of modernization of ship breaking yard under Hong Kong Convention would be completed by June next year.

He also laid foundation stone of Industrial Waste Management plant site.

The Minister was briefed about operational industrial activities of Gaddani ship breaking yard.
