Govt Committed to Modernizing Energy Sector: Leghari

Islamabad: Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has emphasized the government’s dedication to the modernization of the country’s energy sector. He made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the German Development Agency, led by the Deputy Head of Mission from the German Embassy, Arno Kirchhof.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussion centered on ongoing cooperation in the energy sector, particularly focusing on decarbonization and the digitization of power distribution networks. Minister Leghari expressed appreciation for Germany’s support and highlighted Pakistan’s intention to further strengthen ties with international partners. The aim is to enhance research, capacity building, and implement policy reforms within the energy sector.

The German delegation assured Pakistan of continued support from the German Development Agency (GIZ) to help make the country’s energy sector more modern and environmentally sustainable.
