Govt Committed to Reducing Electricity Taxes: Awais Laghari

Islamabad: Minister for Power, Awais Laghari, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to provide relief to common people through slashing taxes on electricity bills. He made these remarks while addressing a laptop distribution ceremony at Ghazi University in Dera Ghazi Khan today.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister stated that the government is negotiating with the IMF to ensure that relief reaches the public in the next one to one-and-a-half years. Laghari emphasized the importance of these negotiations as a means to ease the financial burden on citizens by reducing electricity-related taxes.

Laghari also announced plans for Dera Ghazi Khan Airport, stating that it would be made operational for local and international flights at the start of the next year. This development is expected to improve connectivity and accessibility for the region, potentially fostering economic growth and development.
