Govt Committed to Reducing Petroleum Prices to Benefit Public: Ali

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has announced that the government is dedicated to ensuring the benefits of reduced petroleum prices are passed on to the public while adhering to its international obligations.

According to Radio Pakistan, in a post shared on his X handle, Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik detailed the government’s actions, stating that the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by a total of 200 rupees per litre, and petrol by 155 rupees per litre. This move aims to provide relief to consumers amidst fluctuating global oil prices.

The Minister further explained that, during the current week, the price of petrol in the international market ranged from 98.35 to 91.68 dollars per barrel, while high-speed diesel prices fluctuated between 109.09 and 104.79 dollars per barrel. These reductions come as the government strives to balance international market trends with domestic consumer needs.

Minister Malik emphasized that the government is maintaining a neutral stance by not prioritizing any specific sector over another, ensuring that no sector bears an undue burden from these adjustments.
