Govt Committed to Reviving Steel Industry, Says Haroon Akhtar Khan

Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan has emphasized the government’s commitment to reviving sick industrial units, focusing on enacting bankruptcy laws and ensuring investor protection. He made these remarks while chairing a high-level meeting with a delegation of large steel manufacturers in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Haroon Akhtar Khan highlighted that the revival of the steel industry is a crucial element of the government’s broader industrial strategy. He assured the delegation that he is well aware of the challenges faced by steel manufacturers and is committed to addressing them.

Haroon Akhtar Khan further stated that proposals to support and develop the steel sector will be included in the upcoming budget, reaffirming the government’s commitment to promoting the steel industry. He expressed confidence that these initiatives would help restore the industry’s vitality.

The delegation of steel manufacturers expressed their willingness to contribute to the nation’s progress. They stated that with government support, they are prepared to make a significant comeback, signaling optimism for the future of the steel sector.
