Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that the government remains committed to safeguarding its critical energy infrastructure to ensure an uninterrupted supply of fuel across the country. He expressed these views while chairing a meeting of the Committee on Security Assessment of Oil Refineries and Oil Storage Facilities in Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting reviewed security arrangements at oil refineries and storage installations in detail across the country. Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction over the existing security arrangements and emphasized the importance of maintaining robust security protocols to protect vital energy assets.
The meeting was briefed about measures being undertaken in close coordination with all stakeholders, including refineries and oil marketing companies, to strengthen the security of these strategic facilities. It was also informed that the cost of additional security measures will be borne by the oil marketing companies.
