Govt Declares National Mourning on Aga Khan’s Funeral

Lisbon: The government has announced a day of national mourning on the funeral of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan today. According to a Cabinet Division notification, the national flag shall fly at half-mast throughout the country.

According to Radio Pakistan, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will represent the Government of Pakistan at Prince Karim Aga Khan’s funeral in Lisbon, Portugal. Meanwhile, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, late Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, will be buried in Egypt tomorrow.

According to a statement from the Ismaili Imamat, after a funeral ceremony in the Portuguese capital Lisbon today, Aga Khan IV will be laid to rest at a private burial ceremony in Aswan, Egypt. Prince Karim Aga Khan passed away in Lisbon at the age of 88 on Tuesday.
