Govt Launches Rs4.5 Billion Semiconductor and Chip Design Initiative

Islamabad: Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima announced the launch of a significant program valued at four point five billion rupees, aimed at advancing semiconductor and chip design capabilities in the country. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to bolster technological skills among the youth.

According to Radio Pakistan, the minister highlighted that the program intends to train approximately seventy-two hundred engineers in this specialized domain. Currently, about three hundred students are engaged in training at various universities across the nation.

The primary goal of this initiative, as stated by the minister, is to enhance the employability of the youth by providing them with essential technical skills that are in high demand in the job market. Moreover, the program includes a third-party evaluation process conducted after each training session to evaluate its effectiveness and to measure employment outcomes for the participants, ensuring the program meets its objectives.
