Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Press Freedom: Info Minister

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has stated that the government firmly believes in the freedom of press and freedom of expression. In a recent statement, he extended his congratulations to the newly elected office bearers of the National Press Club.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister emphasized that the journalist community is a vital pillar of the country. He highlighted that the press club serves as a strong voice for journalists and plays a significant role in advocating for journalists’ rights, freedom of expression, and professional development.

Attaullah Tarar expressed confidence that the newly elected office bearers will contribute positively to the welfare of journalists, the freedom of the press, and the national interest. He assured that the government will continue to provide all possible support to address journalists’ issues, enhance their professional skills, and promote press freedom.
