Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Support Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s Case: PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has assured that the government will continue to provide all possible legal and diplomatic support in the matter of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. He conveyed this commitment during a meeting with Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui, the sister of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government is not negligent regarding Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s case. Diplomatic and legal assistance has been consistently provided under his directives. Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif had previously reached out to then US President Joe Biden by letter to address the issue and has also established a committee led by Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Azam Nazeer Tarar, to ensure progress continues.

The committee is tasked with maintaining communication with Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui and will work to provide necessary support in relation to Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s case.
