Govt Reduces Power Tariffs for Industry and Agriculture to Boost Economic Growth

Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has significantly reduced electricity charges for the industrial and agricultural sectors to ease the cost of doing business and support economic growth.

According to Radio Pakistan, under the new tariff structure, the price of additional electricity units for the agriculture sector has been reduced from 38 rupees to 22.98 rupees per unit, while the industrial sector’s rate has been brought down from 34 rupees to 22.98 rupees per unit. This major relief measure will lower the average cost of purchased electricity for consumers in both sectors.

With these revised rates, agricultural consumers using an additional 100 units will see a reduction of approximately seven rupees per unit in their average electricity cost. Similarly, industrial consumers using an additional 1,000 units will experience a decrease of nearly five rupees per unit.

The government has already implemented several tariff reductions for industries, and this further decrease is expected to encourage higher production and stimulate economic activity. These steps reflect the government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the public and ensuring that power tariffs become more affordable and growth-oriented.
