Govt Refutes Claims of Power Component Cancellation in Diamer-Bhasha Dam

Islamabad: The Ministry of Economic Affairs has strongly refuted reports claiming that the government has cancelled the 4500 MW power-generation component of the Diamer-Bhasha Dam.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Ministry issued a statement labeling these reports as false and misleading. It emphasized that the Diamer-Bhasha Dam remains a national priority project, which includes both water storage and hydropower generation.

The statement further clarified that the planning and implementation of the project are proceeding in coordination with WAPDA and the relevant ministries and stakeholders. It urged the public and the media to rely on official government sources and verified updates for accurate information regarding the project.
