Govt to Boost Agri-Industrial Base with Modern Technology: Haroon

Islamabad: The government plans to fully support local manufacturers in adopting modern technology to enhance Pakistan’s agricultural and industrial sectors. Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, announced this during a high-level meeting with CEO LiuGong Agricultural Machinery, Mr. Frank Wang, and key representatives from leading tractor manufacturing companies.

According to Radio Pakistan, Frank Wang provided insights into LiuGong’s operations, highlighting that the company specializes in heavy machinery such as cranes, loaders, excavators, tractors, and bulldozers. He also noted that LiuGong offers training to its partners in agricultural machinery, sugarcane harvesting, and modern technology.

Haroon Akhtar Khan stressed the significance of joint ventures between Pakistani tractor manufacturers and LiuGong to boost local production capacity and facilitate technological exchange. He remarked that integrating modern technology with agriculture and local manufacturing is crucial at this time.

The SAPM added that local production of agricultural machinery would generate employment opportunities and open new export avenues. The meeting primarily focused on introducing modern tractor technology, sugarcane harvesting machinery, and promoting local manufacturing of agricultural equipment in Pakistan.
