Govt to Ensure Transparency in Selection of Hajj Muavineen

Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, has reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency and merit in the selection process for Muavineen who assist Hajj pilgrims.

According to Radio Pakistan, he stated that, moving forward, any Muavin wishing to perform Hajj will be required to finance their own journey. He also emphasized that Muavineen will now be required to remain with the pilgrims throughout the Hajj journey, ensuring better support and assistance.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain further said that top medical professionals will accompany the pilgrims to provide the best possible healthcare services during the Hajj. Regarding accommodations, he explained that the buildings hired for pilgrims in Madinah are located within the Markazia, only a 5 to 10-minute walk from the holy sites.

Additionally, transport facilities will be provided for pilgrims in Makkah for added convenience.
