Graduation ceremony of Shaheen Vocational Training Institute held at Benazirabad

Nawabshah, December 25, 2012 (PPI-OT): A graduation ceremony of SVTI (Shaheen Vocational Training Institute) was held at Benazirabad District Nawabshah. Air Vice Marshal Sohail Aman, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Training) was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

The key PAF personnel who pioneered the project were also present at the occasion. A total of 88 students graduated from the institute completing their technical training in the fields of Machinist, Office Assistant, Driving and Woodwork.

SVTI, Benazirabad District was established in April, 2011 by Pakistan Air Force in collaboration of STEVTA (Sindh Technical Educational and Vocational Training Authority) under the vision of President of Pakistan and instructions of Chief of the Air Staff Pakistan Air Force.

The institute is imparting technical education and practical training to local youth so as to equip them with adequate knowledge and skills to receive employment in national or international market or start their independent small business.

Launching of technical training at this institute under Benazir Bhutto shaheed youth development programme has given new dimension to the services of PAF towards the nation. The programme was designed for addressing the issue of poverty and un-employment through human resource development in the district Benazirabad in particular and in Sind province in general.

SVTI has so far graduated around 400 students in three batches in various fields of technical education. 36 trainees including two female trainees from previous batches have already been selected in different cadres of PAF.
