Group of Interns Visits Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat in Islamabad

Islamabad: A group of interns, currently undergoing training at the office of the Federal Tax Ombudsman, visited the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat in Islamabad on Monday.

According to Radio Pakistan, Advisor Wafaqi Mohtasib Office Shahid Humayun and Director General Administration Muhammad Safdar briefed the interns about the role and functions of the Wafaqi Mohtasib. They highlighted that Ombudsmanship has become well-established in the country. Following the success of the Wafaqi Mohtasib’s institution in providing free and swift administrative justice, the concept has been extended to areas such as Banking, Insurance, Taxation, and Protection of Women against Harassment at the Workplace.

Later, the interns also visited the Asian Ombudsman Association Secretariat, located within the Wafaqi Mohtasib’s Office premises, where they were informed about Pakistan’s pioneering role in the Ombuds community.

The group commended the work being done by the Wafaqi Mohtasib Office in addressing complaints related to maladministration and taking steps toward good governance in the country.
