Gurdwara Kartarpur Governing Council Convenes Eighth Meeting in Islamabad

Islamabad: The eighth meeting of the Gurdwara Kartarpur Governing Council, chaired by Secretary for Religious Affairs Sajid Mahmoud Chauhan, was held in Islamabad. During the meeting, the Secretary of Religious Affairs highlighted the Kartarpur Corridor project as a symbol of humanitarianism and interfaith harmony, emphasizing the provision of optimal facilities for Sikh Yatrees.

According to Radio Pakistan, Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora expressed a commitment to offering excellent hospitality to Sikh Yatrees. The meeting also addressed the impact of Indian water policies on the Kartarpur Corridor project, with a focus on the damages caused by recent floods.

To address these challenges, it was decided to immediately restore the affected parts of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor project. Furthermore, the council agreed to convene another meeting within two weeks to expedite the necessary repairs and restoration work.
