Gwadar’s Free Ambulance Service Facilitates Critical Patient Transfers to Karachi

Gwadar: In a significant development for healthcare accessibility in Gwadar, the free ambulance service operational under the GDA Hospital Pak-China Friendship has successfully transferred two patients with serious health conditions to Karachi for advanced treatment and diagnosis. This service, pivotal in enhancing the healthcare response for the district’s poor and deserving patients, was initiated by special directive from Deputy Commissioner Hamoud-ur-Rehman.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Jamal Rahim, the in-charge of the free ambulance service, emphasized the critical role the service plays in bridging the gap between patients and higher-level medical facilities. Previously, the lack of available ambulances had resulted in significant hardships for patients from Gwadar seeking urgent medical care in cities like Karachi, sometimes with fatal outcomes.

The introduction of this free ambulance service has markedly improved the timeliness and effectiveness of medical care, ensuring that patients receive the necessary interventions swiftly. This initiative not only shortens the distance to advanced healthcare facilities but also stands as a beacon of hope for the region’s most vulnerable populations, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing public health infrastructure.
