Hajj: Millions of Intending Pilgrims Converge in Mina

Mina: Millions of intending pilgrims from across the world have converged on a vast tent camp in Mina, Makkah, marking the commencement of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. The guests of Allah will spend the night in the tent valley as they begin their spiritual journey.

According to Radio Pakistan, Correspondent Abdul Rehman Cheema reports from Mina that the pilgrims will move to Maidan-e-Arafat tomorrow morning to perform the Rukn-e-Azm of Hajj, Waqoof-e-Arafat. As per Saudi instructions, the Hujjaj will listen to the Hajj sermon in their tents, with translations available in various languages. During their time in Arafat, pilgrims will offer Zohr and Asr prayers together and spend the day engaged in prayers, Wazaif, and Talbia.

Almost 73% of the Pakistani pilgrims will travel to Arafat by train, while the remaining will embark on their sacred journey by buses. The Pakistan Hajj Mission has urged the Hujjaj to adhere closely to the instructions issued by Saudi authorities to mitigate the risks associated with overcrowding and hot weather conditions.

Historic facilities have been introduced this year to enhance the comfort of pilgrims in Mashair. For the first time, sofa-cum-beds have replaced mattresses, tents have been upgraded with gypsum board walls, and air conditioners have been installed along with air coolers. Elevated luggage storage racks and separate shoe racks have also been introduced to improve the experience of the pilgrims.
