Hajj Mission Successfully Returns Lost Bags to Pilgrims in Mina

Makkah: The Pakistan Hajj Mission team has successfully returned two lost bags to their rightful owners in Mina.

According to Radio Pakistan, correspondent Asad Ullah Khan reported from Makkah that the bags contained cash worth over 750,000 Pakistani rupees, expensive mobile phones, and essential travel documents. The first incident occurred on May 29, 2026, when Saddam-ul-Abideen, an Assistant Coordinator stationed at Maktab 4 (Rawaf Mina), discovered an abandoned brown bag while on duty. The contents of the bag, verified in the presence of Camp Incharge Ala Samee, Qari Abdullah, and Sajjad, included 10,160 Saudi riyals (approximately 711,000 Pakistani rupees), 42,350 rupees, an Apple iPhone, a Nusuk card, and the pilgrim’s identification card.

The documents allowed the identification of the pilgrim as Abdullah Mahar, who was residing in Room 401 of Building No. 924. After a diligent two-day search, the Pakistan Hajj Mission staff managed to contact Mahar. The team personally visited his building and returned the cash, phone, and documents following thorough verification.

In a separate incident, the Haram Guides team located another lost bag in Mina, which belonged to a different pilgrim. This bag contained a mobile phone and travel documents and was inadvertently left behind during ablution, causing the pilgrim distress for approximately two hours. The Haram Guides team acted promptly to locate the pilgrim and safely returned his belongings. The pilgrim expressed his gratitude for the team’s swift and dedicated response.
