Lahore: The three-day international exhibition of hand-knotted carpets in Lahore concluded with notable success, signaling a promising boost for the carpet industry and Pakistan’s economy. Agreements inked with foreign buyers at the event are anticipated to significantly elevate the exports of hand-made carpets and enhance foreign exchange earnings for the current fiscal year.
International company representatives attending the exhibition commended the organizers for their hospitality and the exceptional quality of the products displayed. The robust demand for Pakistani hand-woven carpets was evident, with companies from numerous countries placing orders and purchasing items, underscoring the global allure of these products.
Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman, Chairman of the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA), and Riaz Ahmed, Chairman of the Exhibition Committee, highlighted the event’s success. They remarked on the widespread appreciation for the superior quality and distinctive designs of Pakistani carpets among international buyers. Feedback indicated that nearly all participating manufacturers and exporters secured export orders, marking a positive development for the sector.
The organizers expressed gratitude to foreign buyers for their visit and noted efforts to fortify business relations, which are expected to yield long-term advantages. They emphasized the exhibition’s role as a crucial platform for expanding Pakistan’s hand-knotted carpet exports, providing encouragement to both manufacturers and exporters.
Acknowledgment was also given to the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for its crucial support, which was deemed instrumental in the event’s success.
