HBL Sets Benchmark with Historic Insurance Payout for Farmers

Karachi: HBL has issued a groundbreaking insurance payout exceeding PKR 10 million under its Area Yield Index Insurance (AYII) program, marking the largest disbursement to date. The payout aims to support farmers in Balochistan and Sindh, offering them financial protection against various agricultural risks.

The AYII program provides coverage for adverse climatic conditions such as windstorms, frost, excessive rainfall, heat waves, hail, floods, droughts, and pest attacks. This initiative is designed to help farmers maintain their incomes and contribute to national food security.

Aamir Kureshi, Head of Products Transactional Services and Solution Delivery at HBL, emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting farmers. “This payout underscores the Bank’s commitment to supporting farmers in mitigating their losses incurred due to natural or environmental calamities,” he said.

HBL’s effort in providing this insurance solution demonstrates its leadership in Agri Financing, aiming to build a resilient farming community. Kureshi highlighted agriculture’s role in Pakistan’s economic growth, asserting that when farmers thrive, so does Pakistan.
