Health Minister Reaffirms Govt’s Commitment to Real-Time Disease Surveillance

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Health, Syed Mustafa Kamal has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensure real-time disease surveillance and data accuracy across the country. During a visit to the Sehat Sahulat Program’s data centre in Islamabad, Mustafa Kamal emphasized the need for developing a Universal Medical Record system for non-Sehat Card patients. He highlighted that every citizen’s Computerized National Identity Card number should serve as their medical record number, aiming to streamline healthcare access.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Health Minister stated that implementing such a system would significantly improve access to healthcare services. It would enable doctors to instantly retrieve patients’ medical histories, which would facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment. The initiative is expected to enhance healthcare efficiency and effectiveness by providing healthcare professionals with immediate access to essential patient information.
