According to Kashmir Media Service, the protestors gathered at the wedding site, demanding that the venue not be used for Muslim functions. This confrontation led to slogans being raised, escalating tensions in the area.

Superintendent of Police Gyan Prakash Rai stated that law enforcement was called to manage the situation and that the contractor responsible for renting the venue was taken into custody under relevant legal provisions.
