Historic, Technology-Driven Initiative for Shrimp Farming Launched in Punjab: CM

Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif says a historic, technology-driven initiative for shrimp farming has been launched in the province. In a statement, she said following the successful pilot and research-based project for shrimp farming on 100 acres of land, the shrimp farming industry has now been formally launched.

According to Radio Pakistan, this achievement is based on scientific research and marks the beginning of a new era of the blue economy in Punjab. The project has been developed in line with global research and development standards and advanced aquaculture technologies, with technical support from internationally renowned experts from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Ecuador, Australia, and Mexico.

The Punjab Chief Minister also mentioned that a feasibility study for an additional 2,600 acres of the project is underway and the project will be finalized for farmers by the beginning of next year.
