Hurriyat Leaders Urge Commemoration of August 5 as ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’

Srinagar: Hurriyat leaders in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir have reiterated their call for observing August 5 as Youm-e-Istehsal to mark the anniversary of India’s revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status. They strongly warned that the aggressive and expansionist policies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are pushing South Asia to the brink of a catastrophic conflict.

According to Radio Pakistan, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) urged global powers to rein in India’s jingoistic ambitions before the situation spirals into a broader regional crisis. Meanwhile, Indian forces’ personnel in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred a Kashmiri youth in Kulgam district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, marking the sixth killing in the territory during the ongoing week.

Kashmir Media Service reported that the youth was martyred during a cordon and search operation launched in the Akhal forest area of Devsar.
