Islamabad: Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Mariano, has commenced a two-day official visit to Pakistan. The visit aims to enhance the collaboration between Pakistan and the IAEA, particularly in the peaceful applications of nuclear technology.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan and the IAEA have maintained a longstanding cooperative relationship that dates back to 1957. This visit by the IAEA’s Director General is seen as an opportunity to further deepen this partnership.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan highlighted that the visit underscores the commitment of both parties to leverage nuclear technology for peaceful and developmental purposes.
